FREE PRINTABLE Inspirational Stickers for Erin Condren Life Planner

InspirationalStickersTitleHave I mentioned how much I love the Erin Condren Life Planner? I love the flexibility, the SPACE (there’s TONS), the fact that I can look at my entire week and month to see what’s going on, and that I can use STICKERS! The calendar on my iPhone won’t let me use fun stickers and washi tape. Don’t get me wrong, my paper planner can’t send me reminders, but I can live with that. If you take a look every day, you don’t need reminders to pop up. ūüėČ

I use all kinds of stickers and washi in my planner, and I’ve started making my own stickers to fit my needs. I recently went back to school, so I have stickers with my classes and times, as well as “Homework”, “Study”, “Test”, and important dates to remember. More on those later.

I also created fun inspirational stickers to add in, with my favorite quotes and motivational sayings. These are sized perfectly to fit in the weekly view boxes in the Life Planner, and are a great reminder to stay motivated. Some weeks I really need it!

InspirationalStickers

So, since they’ve helped me so much, I decided to offer my Inspirational Sticker Sheet FREE for you to download! All you have to do is download, print, cut, and add adhesive to stick them in your planner. I cut them all apart, then run them through my Xyron sticker maker with repositionable adhesive (just in case I need to move the stickers).InspirationalStickers

Well, Hello There! Welcome Back

The blog has been a bit dormant for a while, but I’ve decided to go ahead and bring it back to life. Or at least try to. Here’s what’s been happening:

  • I’ve discovered the Erin Condren Life Planner. Holy cow, I swear this book has changed my life. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed a few pics here and there. If you don’t follow me on Instagram, you should!
  • I started designing my own stickers for the Life Planner to fit my needs, and have started selling those. My Etsy shop will be open again soon is now open, so be on the lookout for fun planner goodies.
  • It’s Girl Scout Cookie Time! My stats have blown through¬†the roof lately because of my free Thank You card download. I have no plans on taking this down any time soon, however, I do offer more fun cookie receipts and other Cookie goodies, so be on the lookout for those this week!
  • This past fall, I went back to school. Crazy, I know, but I finally decided that I want to be an RN, so right now I’m working on prerequisites to get into nursing school. Fun, right? Totally.

That’s about it in a nutshell! I’ll try to post new recipes, as I need to refresh my own menus and try new things, and I’ll also post about essential¬†oils, kid stuff, crafty things, “nontraditional student” – as my husband likes to call me – stories, and more.

Be sure to come back and visit!

I ordered two packs of washi tape (for a total of 20 rolls) and only had to pay $2 for shipping. If it takes a while to get to me, that’s okay, because it was only $2! I’ll update this post when I receive my fun package.

Saturday Steals: Famous Footwear BOGO – Great for Back to School

famous footwear

Yes, it’s Back to School time! School starts for us on Monday, August 4, which seems super-early, but really, it can’t come fast enough in my opinion! But that’s another post.

Back to School time means shopping to get the kids geared up and ready to go Рtime to replace all the clothes and shoes they outgrew and/or ruined over the summer! Shoes are always the most expensive in our household, as I refuse to buy used shoes for the kids. Clothes, fine. Shoes, no way; they need the support only new shoes, especially sneakers, can offer, in my opinion.

Famous Footwear is currently running their BOGO deal: Buy one pair of shoes, get another pair of equal or lesser value for half price. I love this deal. And, to top it off, if you join their Rewards program, you get a coupon for an ADDITIONAL 20% off! If you don’t want to join, but why wouldn’t you, you can still get a coupon for 15% off. Still a great deal.

I ended up getting a pair of Skechers Light-Up sneakers (they both insisted) for each of the kids for a grand total of $40. TWO pairs of SKECHERS for $40. You can’t beat that. They’re happy, I’m happy.

Fun Finds Friday: The Erin Condren Life Planner

I’ve always been a paper planner kind of girl. I just love paper. I posted a while back about creating my own blog planner, and I am still excited about¬†that thing (I just need to use it!). In that post I mentioned about creating my own personal daily planner, but that hasn’t happened yet. Then, just recently, I discovered the Erin Condren Life Planners, and I’m kind of obsessed. This planner looks exactly like what I would have created for myself! It’s like it came from my brain, it’s that scary.

It is a little pricey, starting at $50, but there are so many ways to customize the planner to fit your needs. I love looking at how others are using their planners – just search for #erincondren on Instagram or Pinterest, and you’ll see thousands of different ways people are using them. From daily planners, to fitness tracking, to meal planning – so many options. All of the washi tape and cute stickers just make me go ooohh¬†and ahhhh¬†constantly.

In spite of the price, I do plan on buying one very soon. I just can’t resist all of the cuteness! These planners are so pretty and cheerful, how could I not use it?

Hello Again!

It would seem I’ve taken a bit of a break from my blog. Oops. I never intended to let it go for this long; it wasn’t a conscious decision, it just sort of happened. Hopefully it won’t happen again!

I’m hoping to get back to it full-swing, or at least part-swing. Recipes and other fun stuff will start making appearances very soon. For now, I just wanted to touch base with whomever might still be out there.

Here’s what I’ve been up to, in a nutshell:

  • School, or, medical training – I recently finished classes to become a Phlebotomist, a CNA, and a Patient Care Tech (PCT). Fun times! Hello, career change. More on that later.
  • Kids. Enough said. The older one starts 2nd grade in 3 weeks, and the little one starts Kindergarten. *sigh*
  • Beach vacation. Can I go back, please?
  • Crafty business. It’s been put on hold, for now, but it was keeping me on my toes there for quite a while. It’s nice to have a break from it, but I do miss the little bits of extra money.

So, stay tuned for more of everything, and thanks for sticking with me!

Tasty Tuesday: Barbecue Sausage Dinner

KielbasaCasserole

I love finding new recipes to try, and the newspaper coupon circulars will often have great ¬†ideas. Some of my favorite recipes have been found in those little papers. This one in particular caught my eye many years ago, and has been a family favorite. It’s fast and easy, and super yummy! I’ve made my own little changes here and there, so I’ll post the original recipe, and note the changes I’ve made. It seems to come out a little different each time, but it’s always good!

Barbecue Sausage Dinner

Originally from Hillshire Farms

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 20-oz bag refrigerated new potato wedges (I just cut up regular russet potatoes)
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped (I’ve also used red bell pepper)
  • chopped onion to taste (my addition)
  • 1 pkg ¬†Polska Kielbasa, sliced (I usually use two packages, because we love this stuff)
  • 1 cup frozen corn
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce (I’m sure I use closer to 1/2 cup or more, altogether)
  • shredded cheddar cheese (my addition)

– Combine oil, potatoes, pepper and onion to large skillet, cover and cook 12-14 minutes

– Add sausage and corn, then cover and cook 2-4 minutes or until thoroughly heated

– Remove from heat, and mix in barbecue sauce and cheese, if desired

– Top with additional cheese, if you like. We love cheese around here, so we usually add a lot!

– Serve warm, and enjoy!

Crafty Fun Friday: Sticky Note Cover from Coasters Tutorial

PostItCover1-1

I love papercrafting. I haven’t done much of it lately because I’ve been so wrapped up in the world of vinyl personalization (need a decal?), but today I was so happy to get my fingers dirty again. I love playing with paper! I have so much scrapbooking paper, you might say I’m a hoarder. It’s probably nothing compared to what others might have, but I feel like it’s a ton.

Today I finally completed something I’ve wanted to do for a while: a snazzy cover for one of my many Sticky Note Pads (yes, Post-Its). I also used a tool that I’ve had for a while, but haven’t used much: The Cinch from We R Memory Keepers. Actually, I think the main reason I bought the Cinch was to make these sticky note covers. The Cinch is a bookbinding tool that’s pretty much just awesome. You can use wire coil binding or spiral binding to bind together books or papers, or even chipboard coasters. It punches the holes (round holes, no less, unlike some similar tools), lines up your coil and materials, then presses together the coil. Fast and easy!

I started with 2 coasters that I stole borrowed from a restaurant that are 4 inches square.

Then, I ran the coaster through my Xyron machine to make one side sticky. You can also use a glue stick or a tape runner; whatever you have on hand is fine.

2014-03-05 13.16.36

Put the sticky side down on the bottom of your scrapbook paper, and trim closely around it with a sharp craft knife.

2014-03-05 13.18.39

I need to change the blade on my knife; it took a few swipes to cut through the paper.

2014-03-05 13.21.47

Once the paper is trimmed, run the coaster through the Xyron again, to make the other side sticky. Trim the paper from the other side. (I used two-sided paper on this project, in case you’re confused – kitchen tools on one side, and the blue/yellow/green stripes on the other)

2014-03-05 13.22.17

Repeat with other coaster.

2014-03-05 13.30.40

Once the paper was adhered, I used a fine grit sanding paper to smooth out the edges on the coasters, and to clean them up a bit.

2014-03-05 13.28.03

Next, I used my distress ink and a sponge to darken the edges.

2014-03-05 13.31.01

When the ink was dry, I was finally ready to break out The Cinch! I lined it all up and punched 7 holes at the top.

2014-03-05 13.36.56

I used 3/4 inch Book Binding Wires¬†to bind it all together…¬†

2014-03-05 13.38.41

…and voila! My snazzy sticky note cover was done. I’m so happy with how it turned out; I can’t wait to make more!

Give it a try! My daughter immediately claimed the pink book, so I made the cooking book for myself. Enjoy!

The Week of the Uninspired

This was pretty much me, all week.
This was pretty much me, all week.

For whatever reason, I’ve been feeling uninspired this week. That’s unusual for me, as I can typically crank out a recipe or two at the very least, but this past week I didn’t even stop by to do that. So, I apologize. Tasty Tuesday will return next week! I’m embarrassed to admit, too, that I didn’t even make a meal plan this week. Shame on me!

I’m going to go ahead and blame my laziness on the weird weather we’ve been having in the Atlanta area for the past month. Because of the snow and ice, the kids were out of school for what seemed like FOREVER, and my routine, such as it is, was completely let go. They finally went back to school this past Wednesday, so I’ve been in recovery mode every since.

I’m looking forward to next week, to start over with a brand new week, and get things back on track! You’ll be hearing more from me, I promise!

When you get out of routine, does it take a while to get back to normal?
